Community Involvement

“Project Happier and Healthier” is a free of charge program that was introduced by Health Bound in 2010. The corresponding health provider invited patients with no supplemental insurance and low income to its facilities for complimentary therapy sessions. The beneficiaries of the project included children with conditions such as down syndrome, autism; as well as elderly people with various conditions.
In response to the devastating tsunami that hit the coast of Japan in 2011, a charity campaign was organized by Health Bound in collaboration with Canadian Red Cross to raise funds for the victims at the Sun Life Financial Centre. For three days, massage therapists were providing seated head and shoulder massage to the public in the hallway of the financial centre, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund.
Health Bound’s interdisciplinary health care professionals helped police officers compete in the 129th annual Police Games at Rogers Centre. Our team members helped the athletes with pre-competition stretching, massage, taping, and warm-up as well as assisted injured athletes during and after the games. The services provided to the policemen were free of charge. The proceeds from the event were donated to the families of fallen policemen.
Team Health Bound took to the streets in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon to promote a healthy lifestyle and to help raise funds for various charities. Having had a big success in the first two years of the marathon, our team members have decided to make running the marathon and helping charities an annual tradition that inspires our family members and patients alike.
Bloor West Rehabilitation Centre, a division of Health Bound Health Network volunteered to sponsor a Homenetmen Youth Soccer team. Their sponsorship allowed the team to provide quality uniforms, training supplies and financial support to cover expenses related to team's travels and competitions. Our specialists helped the team members with pre-competition stretching, taping, as well as help those who are injured during a match or a practice.
Health Bound, in collaboration with Moneris organized a number of charitable events in June of 2012 to raise funds to benefit the Campbell Family Institute at the Princess Margaret Hospital, a leader in the fight against all women's cancers. Our specialists provided massages during charitable events, and a number of assistive devices were donated for the silent auction and lottery draws to raise funds for the Institute.
